The Acellus Specialty Series Program is a series of courses set within a specific subject area. This is designed for secondary students aged 12-20 who are already proficient in English and want to deepen their knowledge in a specific area and earn additional credit. WeLearn Project Based Learning


WeLearn Gamified PBL
WeLearn specializes in Project Based Learning (or PBL) and all of our full time students spend two days each week on a PBL topic. We are happy to bring this unique Enrichment course to you.
For secondary students who love to explore a topic deeply, on their own, and in collaboration with a group of virtually connected peers, our Gamified PBL program is perfect for them. It is also perfect for building a unique portfolio that will catch the attention of university admissions officers.

Our PBL might be better described as Problem Based Learning because students will conduct an intensive 90 hour deep-dive investigation into the causes of and solutions to the world’s social, economic, and environmental problems, and then develop and present their solutions. They will work alone, and together with teammates via Zoom, all under the watchful guidance of our learning coaches.

WHY WeLearn Project Based Learning (PBL)

WeLearn Dynamic PBL
We also have a simplified version of our large format Gamified PBL for younger students and those not wanting as intense and lengthy an experience as our Gamified PBL. Each month students explore an intriguing question or issue for approximately 20 hours. They will work alone and together with teammates via Zoom, all under the watchful guidance of our learning coaches. Learn more about WeLearn Simplified PBL [link to PBL page]

Brain Chase is designed for 2nd - 8th-Grade students to learn reading, writing, language, and math for about 5 hours per week for 5-weeks under their parent’s supervision. Every week will follow a similar schedule. The student begins by watching an online video, which contains various important hidden clues and messages for finding the treasure. After watching the video, the student can select from the reading, writing, math or bonus challenges categories. Completing these assignments unlocks the next video on the journey. Students can guess on the real location of the treasure every 24 hours. If a student guesses within 2 miles of the real location, he or she will win the prize, which could be a US$10,000 scholarship.

Brain Chase, is a great program for learners who want to build Future Skills in a stimulating, globally-competitive virtual environment. There are also a range of personalized learning electives that can be added on, including Rosetta Stone, Khan Academy, Credentialed Teachers, and many others.

Kids in grades K-8 can learn new skills, complete challenges, and build a portfolio of fun projects. Choose from a variety of STEAM topics like drawing and engineering. DIY.org features a huge library of hands-on projects and how-to videos, focused on all of the things kids love, including an awesome kid community!

Like WeLearn, DIY.org believes any kid, anywhere can learn any skill!
